“This new location allows us to offer premium warehouse storage in a high demand, high growth market,” says John A. Evans, President and CEO of Evans Distribution Systems. “We are offering optimized logistics solutions for new and existing customers looking to establish or expand operations in the Midwest and Canada.”

This expansion acknowledges recent trends of manufacturers’ requirement for resilient logistics partnerships to accommodate rising inventory levels, high consumer demand, and to support nearshoring strategies. The facility is operated by a skilled labor force, and it is outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment and technology. Evans Distribution is in the process of acquiring a food-grade certification, liquor licensing, ISO 9001:2015 certification, and a Foreign Trade Zone designation in its first year of occupancy.

“Combined with our eight other locations totaling more than 3 million square feet, this facility expands coverage in the Metro Detroit area and increases flexibility for our customers,” Evans says. “In today’s uncertain environment, this additional capacity and flexibility are invaluable for Evans and our warehouse partners.”

The facility serves a variety of industries including automotive, consumer goods, food and beverage, paper, ecommerce, and more. The 301,000-square-foot facility has 29 dock doors, grade level access, 32’ clear ceiling height, and is equipped with an ESFR fire suppression system.
